The Hemel and Aarde Ridge translates directly to Heaven and Earth Ridge, it’s only fitting then that one of the loveliest Wine Farms in the region be called . 
Creation wines, was…well created by JC and the lovely Carolyn who turned a pretty wild landscape into a beautiful estate full of tasty grapes. I can’t even imagine how hard it must have been to create something out of nothing, but I’m sure glad they did it because now we all get to sit back, guzzle wine and snack on delicious food. If you can’t make it out to the estate, I recently discovered that Pick n Pay sells their wine so you really have no excuse. 
, has high ceilings, windows that open up to show the beautiful vineyards and more importantly the most beautiful soothing aura about it. It’s almost like the whole space is stuck in a lazy Sunday Afternoon where nothing can go wrong and stress isn’t allowed past the mantel. The restaurant has an amazing menu for full meals and a tasting menu for wine pairing, both of which blew my mind. If you’ve got children don’t worry about leaving them at home Creation has an amazing Young Adults Menu and ample space for them to run around outside. 
Wine tasting happens daily between 10.00AM and 17.00PM and wine and food pairing takes place daily between 11.00AM and 16.00PM, you will have to book for both so don’t just pitch up because chances are you won’t be able to get your paws on your little sip of heaven. The Wine and food pairing comes in at R145 per person and really is delicious. The menu contains delights like Avocado and Prawn with a citrus and vanilla mayonnaise and Cauliflower and gorgonzola soup (this was my favourite, I wish they would serve it by the gallon). They do offer an incredibly diverse range of food pairing options, you can check them out . For mains I had the Pan Roasted Duck Breast and Rolled Confit Leg, Sunflower Seed Mashed Potato and Shallot Jus (R150). 
My fellow diners – all of who were part of the #GrootbosMagic team (you can read more about my stay here) also tried out some dishes which were all really delicious too, the vegetarian one looks the best to me! 
Another thing that adds to the charm of Creation is the addition of their resident Chameleons who live on the Orchids that you will see placed on tables in and around the wine tasting area. They are really friendly and keep the space bug free.
