No this is not a review of the band The National, it’s a review of the tasty restaurant that just opened a block away from my new apartment.

The National (15 of 18)
has just been opened by the same team behind , which off the bat made it one of my favourite restaurants in town with. Like Coobs The National prides itself on fresh ingredients straight from the farm (literally).

I walked from my apartment (If you’re driving you can find it at 19 4th Avenue in Parktown North) to the restaurant in an effort to be a little healthier and get away from my computer for a little so I decided to go with a light starter and main.

I’ve also started cutting meat out of my diet more and more because I just feel better if I eat less of it, as a result I’ve been eating more and more tofu. Some tofu has been good, some has been bad, the tofu The National was great. I had a Coriander and Chilli Crispy Fried Tofu bowl with Glass Noodles, Crunch Organic Veg and coconut Lemongrass Broth (R90) and for starters I had the Coriander infused Corn Hotcakes with Wasabi Mayo and Salsa (R55).
