Hello! I’m back and boy do I have some news for you. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably already seen that on Christmas Day the lovely Craig Durrant asked me to marry him and ‘She Said Yes’.
The Puma Happy Holiday tour like past years was split into two parts with a little break over Christmas. Craig and I decided to stay at the coast with my amazing cousin Shayne and her hilarious husband Roy. Shayne and Roy live on the most beautiful piece of land just outside Plett in the natural forests of the area. Craig and I spent most of our days eating LOTS of snacks and hiking and exploring the area. We definitely have to go back I think it’s my new favourite part of South Africa (besides Joburg of course).
On Christmas Day, Craig and I went for a drive after lunch to enjoy our last day before he went back on tour and do a little more exploring. After driving around for an hour or so Craig pulled over into a little clearing in the most beautiful forest on the side of the road and asked if we could take one last photo. We took the photo and he asked for another, I remember pretty clearly asking him why he was suddenly so interested in photos, as I’m usually the one shoving a camera in his face.
Nevertheless I set up the self-timer to take another picture and next thing I knew he was on his knee asking me to marry him. I don’t think I have ever been so surprised in my life, and now we will always have a picture of the exact moment we officially decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
I’ve had a few of you guys ask me about the ring too, it’s probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen and I’m generally not really one to go crazy over jewellery. The ring is gold with an Indian Ruby stone that reflects sunshine in the most wonderful way. Craig got the ring from Dear Rae which has always been a firm favourite of mine.
I’m really excited to start planning the wedding but most of all I’m so excited and feel so blessed that I get to spend the rest of my life with the kindest and most amazing soul that has ever graced this planet.
