On Saturday I finally visited the Collectors Treasury!
I’ve heard so many people talk about it, and was super excited when one of the tours I was taking part in had it as one of their stops. Basically it’s a eight story building filled to bursting with treasure…and the treasure pretty well priced too! The Treasury was founded in 1974 and is the largest used and rare book shop in Africa, and the Southern Hemisphere… I cant even imagine any bigger stores!
The Treasury not only has a crazy amount of books but also entire rooms filled with art, records and ancient photographs and maps, it also has an entire section dedicated to the most beautiful antiques. According to the owner there are over 1,000,000 items in total in the shop. No words could ever do it justice so I suggest you take the time to go visit, it’s right across the road from Arts on Main so you could grab a delicious lunch also!
I cannot wait to go back with a bag full of money!
