I just found out about this amazing project called The Postcard Revival. You can watch their amazing video here.

The project  wants to show off great cities. Great cities like Jo’burg. “We see postcards as travelling art exhibitions – a way to take artist’s impressions of textured and interesting cities from behind gallery walls and out into the world. We like how postcards can do that, how they can be passed from hand to hand, posted all around the world and kept, generally for longer than a Facebook update,” says the team behind the revival.

They approached  some of the city’s most exciting and talented artists, photographers and illustrators to depict Jo’burg in just one image.  These prints form the first of The Postcard Revival’s collection.

The original large-scale artworks and their postcard prints will be for sale at our one-night-only exhibition on Thursday the 16th of May 2013, from 6 pm. The exhibition will take place on the top floor of the beautiful Barbican Building, aptly overlooking the old Rissik Street post-office.

Exhibition space is limited so your RSVP is essential to make sure your name is put on the guest-list.

I cant wait to go!
