When I think about wearing a bikini I immediately think of one particular moment when I was a teenager, I was on the beach and the girls I was with were a whole lot more developed than I was, I just remember feeling like a weird gangly little boy because I didn’t look like all the other girls. It’s so weird how things like that stick with you, it’s taken me a really long time to just feel normal/comfortable in a costume around other people let alone post an entire collection of photos on my blog. This was pretty terrifying for me! Even while Craig and I were taking pictures I kept thinking my stomach looks funny this way or my legs look bad from this angle. It ended up being a really good exercise in reminding myself that my body is my body and I should never compare myself to other people because their bodies are theres too!
Anyway! On to the fun part! Summer is here and I can practically smell the sea and sun lotion already. 2017 has been a hard one to say the least I need a flipping break, and chances are so do you.
I’ve partnered with Maaji to giveaway a bikini to help you get your holiday started. The first time I heard of the brand was years ago when my friend Tiffany bought the most beautiful one piece from them, I remember her frolicking around the beach and me wanting to rugby tackle her and steal it! Maaji is designed and made in Colombia, I usually think of those really intense Brazilian G String costumes when I think of South American styles but Maaji isn’t like that at all it covers all the necessaries while still being incredibly sexy which is great for me! Almost all of their costumes are reversible, the one I’m wearing in this post is and it was actually pretty hard deciding which way to wear it. I picked mine up at colourbox in Parkhurst, they also have an online store so if you want to look at what’s available…and plot which bikini you’re going to choose when you win you can click here.
Here’s to loving the skin we’re in!
