On a daily basis I’m amazed at how South Africa is filled to the brim with the most wonderful, creative people. One of these wonderful humans is Megan Carrie, who I met by chance last year in Durban. Megan instantly made me feel at home and I’ve been secretly stalking her on Instagram ever since.Megan recently started a series on her Instagram account called My Life In Pantones. She started the project from a need for a creative outlet, she was flipping through a Pantone fan sometime in March and came across a colour called ‘Latte’:
Her First thought was: “I know that colour without even needing it in front of me.”
Her Second thought was: “These Pantone people are a bunch of colour-naming geniuses.”
Her Third thought: “How cool would it be to create a real life Pantone.”
Meg’s idea takes Pantones and brings them into real life, now her real life Pantones frame the subject of the photo and with the help of the caption, give it a relevant context – whether it be a popular expression, a well-known lyric, or a juxtaposed pun -and with that, #MyLifeInPantones was born.
