I’m no tech blogger, I don’t have to tell you that, but, I do love technology especially when it comes to phones and camera gear. So when Logitech asked me to give their ‘Circle‘ a whirl, which involved a camera AND my cellphone I jumped at the chance.
If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll know that I live in an apartment so security doesn’t often really play a role in our lives. We’re high up and in a secure building so we feel that we’re pretty safe from burglars for the most part (hopefully)! The thing is, we’re not always at home. I travel for work loads and Craig feels like he’s constantly on tour with the band. So there’s no way we can tell if everything is okay with our apartment and if any baddies have put their feet on my beloved blue couch.
Seriously though until I started playing around with the circle I honestly hadn’t put enough thought into the safety of my home when I’m not around. I’ve rounded up a few of my favourite things about my Circle as a quick reference guide.
- You don’t need a whole team of security experts to install it and take you on a conference to explain to you how it works. You take it out of the box, charge it and install the app on your phone. It’s the easiest setup I’ve ever had for a new gadget.
- It’s small, and pretty damn cute. If you’re imagining a 90’s SABC camera following your every move…you’re wrong. The Circle can fit into the palm of your hand and has a sleek and won’t stick out like a sore thumb in your house.
- It’s got a two way microphone so you can you can chat to your loved ones, give someone a scare or let the baddies know the cops are coming to get them. I really love this function though! While I was travelling earlier this month instead of Skyping I just opened my Logi Circle app and Craig and I had a chat while he went about his business in our apartment. This function will work perfectly for parents or people who want to keep an eye on their animals when they’re not around
- Last but not least Logitech has taken a human approach to security and allows you to capture and save memories, I think this feature is just incredible. I think it must also be pretty funny to watch videos of when we have friends over or me and Craig acting like weirdos around the house.
I set up my Circle in my lounge for a day and this is what happened:
Thanks to Logitech for supporting She Said.
