A big part of She Said is finding new spots and things for you guys to do, it’s one of my favourite parts of having a blog! So when a new spot opens directly below my apartment you best believe I try it out at least three times before telling you guys! has quite literally just opened it’s doors and this restaurant and deli is already a firm favourite in my neighbourhood.

Just the idea of knowing that at any point I can walk down the stairs and treat myself to a delicious slice of chocolate cake (R20) or pick up some cheese and other deli goodies makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. For those of you who aren’t living in my building it’s definitely still worth taking a drive for. That Spot On 4th is owned and run by a lovely woman by the name of Zané, who you might have seen around Arbour Cafe.

The interior of is quintessentially ‘deli’ with light walls, plants littering the table and walls and of course a huge deli counter filled with artisanal cheese, meets and juices…not to mention the pastries and cake counter! Be sure to try out the Baklava (R8) when you visit, it’s incredibly tasty and is made from an authentic Greek family recipe that has been passed on to Zané.

I’ve been there three times now and aside from wanting to eat an entire chocolate cake every time I’ve been I’ve made sure I’ve tried quite a few things on the menu. My favourite item is the Lamb Meatballs Flatbread with Minted Tzatziki, Red Onion and Pickled Cucumber (R105), you guys know that I hardly order/eat  red meat so that’s just a sign of how good it is. I’ve also had the Beetroot and Butternut Salad (R82) The Halloumi Skewers (R75) and the soon to be famous Hangover Cure Savoury Waffle with Spanish Chorizo, Caramelized Onion, Mozzarella, Roasted Rosa Tomatoes and a Fried Egg (R79).

That Spot On 4th has a huge breakfast selection (served till 11.30AM) and a tempting waffle selection, Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich  (R45) anyone? The deli also has ready made meals on the ‘Sorted for Dinner’ menu for you to take home and pretend you’re a fancy chef.

I can’t wait to spend many a morning working while soaking up the sun and waffles at That Spot On 4th (there’s free wifi). That Spot on 4th is open for Breakfast and Lunch from 8AM to 5PM/3PM on Sunday’s and is closed on Monday’s.

Paid that Spot On 4th a visit or know of any cafes I should check out, leave a comment below!
