I’ve never really celebrated Valentine’s Day, Craig and I have exchanged gifts a few times (once I got a six pack of Creme Soda and it was the best), but as a whole it’s not really something I’ve ever been into. Having said that there are some really cool events happening in Joburg on the 14th, Valentine’s Day or not would be a shame to miss! I’ve made a list of some of my picks to save you the trouble of having to search too hard!

and Riversands Farm are hosting outdoor cinemas, showing everything from Love Actually to The Notebook.
KCC tickets are going for R600 per couple and include a pretty large three course picnic basket with champagne and other drinks available for purchase. You can also hire a beanbag at the venue for R50 or just bring your own blanket. The show starts at 19.30PM

Riversands Farm promises to have you looking into your partners eyes for the whole night ignoring the screen with tickets going for R120 per person (teenagers get in for R70) . As an add on you can also get a picnic basket for two filled with snacks for only R300. The show starts at 19.00PM

Lately The Date Factory has been popping up in my Facebook feed almost every time I log in. I haven’t tried Date Factory, but from looking at their website it seems pretty awesome! In essence they deliver a Date Box to your house and you can set up a date in the comfort of your home. You can choose between various options of boxes including Raunchy Boxes, Specialty Boxes and Monthly boxes ranging from an indoor camping night to a pirate themed evening. All in all it looks like some serious fun

For the not so serious Parkers Comedy Club is hosting an evening of comedy aptly named Your Funny Valentine. The show features comedians: Joe Parker, Snooze, Hannes Brummer, Stuart Taylor. I’ve been to Parkers a few times over the years and it’s always good fun!

A couple of my friends have done the whole suspended eating thing and they say it’s super fun just bring a jacket because it gets cold up there!
